Bite died so I switched to drop shotting a 3" gulp minnow when I got a giant bite. It was a 7 pounder but not exactly what I was looking for lol!

I have a little 2 man trolling motor boat but since my old pick up died I pretty much stick to bank fishing.

    Spring success

4/12 - On a small Jersey pond. 1st LM of the year on a fly. 1st Bluegill same fly. Lots of follows.

4/14 - Valley Creek. 2 browns, 3 missed hits on a bluebird day. It was really nice to get back on Valley. I love moving water!

Got a few nice white perch jigging in the AM up the GEHR. And a few nice Crappies in the PM in the same spot. In the mean time went to Tuckahoe lake for trout and got skunked using worms. Go figure. Yesterday got a small bass and a few small crappies on a feeder stream to the GEHR all jigging twister tails.

Last minute decision to fish today, went down to a brackish part of the river and were catching nice white perch throwing small spoons and spinners. Some real nice perch on metal and a consistent bite for about 2 hours when my partner hooks a hickory shad. Had heard some roomers that there were a couple of shad caught up river and we wound up catching a half dozen with a total 24 perch, all released except 4 my buddy kept for dinner. 'nother nice day of fishing. all on ultra light tackle with the hickories often jumping out of the water.

    4-21 Union Lake

Hit Union this am at around 5:30. Light wind, water was calm so I tied on old faithful black jitterbug. Second cast had what seemed to be a light bite but once I set the hook that was definitely not the case. Really bad pics because it was still dark and I didn't have my headlamp on me. Weighed in at 6.02 lbs.

Fished Parvin this morning. Caught six, best one going about 2 1/2lbs. My friend lost a pig next to the boat, probably 5-6lbs. The bites were kind of light. The best one came off a bed, water temps at 63.

I have had a horrible year (for size) while fishing from land. I have had some 20 fish days but have yet to catch a bass over 3lbs. It's amazing how last year I was catching big bass and this year it has been dink central. Last year I was crushing fish on jigs and this year jogs have not done a damn thing for me.

Caught five more today at Parvin. Nothing big. Best went just over 16". Water temps dropped about 5 degress from yesterday. These fish hit really hard. Wacky rig Senkos. Nailed a chunk pickerel too.

    4-26 Cedarville Lake

Cedarville has been really producing for me this year. Caught a bunch of small ones and this one weighed 3.83 lbs which will turn in to the 4's when I tell my buddies. All the shorts were caught on a red craw baby- and swim senko caught the prize.
