Default Christmas Tree And Trains On A Platform

Back in the fifties, I remember trains and the Christmas tree being so common. The tree was on a large platform with trains set up going around it. A city of plastic houses, tunnels, figurine animals and people decorated the seen. Does anybody set up trains like that anymore?

Had trains setup for Christmas every year as a kid. Set them up for my kids until they lost interest. Just had one of the Engines (1950ís) worked on at Nickolas Trains? I plan to give that set to my brother this Christmas for his boys. Hope they can put the video games down long enough to enjoy them.

Growing up, my Dad always set up an HO platform that the tree sat on. I'm not sure whatever happend to those trains.

We have a tree set on the floor with an HO set running around the base. Last year, my wife's boss gave us a set of Z gauge trains that I set up in the dining room. How small is Z guage? Our platform is 2' by 2 1/2'. Check out the quarter for reference. It takes ALOT of patience to get all the cars aligned on the tracks.

I still put up the Plasticville houses, Lionel train set, people, cars snow and such but now it is only 4ft x 4ft and the tree in the middle. Like the others my Dad and Mom did it for us back when we were youngsters and I did it for my children. Still the same trains etc. Great memories

My father just bought my son his first real set of Lionel trains. The Pennslyvannia Flyer Set. I plan on setting it up tonight around the tree.

This will be the first year in many years that I do not have a train set up around the Christmas tree. My daughter decided to put the trains up at Mom's house. Looks like I will be in the market for a train set this year.
