Default What animal is tearing up my lawn

Woke up Tuesday morning find a grass scratched away and hole dug in my front lawn. It was right, smack dab in the middle of the lawn. The section of grass scratched away is about 2 foot long X 8 in. wide. The hole is kind elongated in shape and about 3-4 inches wide. I checked it again this morning and the hole looks to be a little deeper and wider. The hole is about 6 inches deep. The hole looks like it is directed to just under the surface. Its definitely not a small animal like a mole, vole or chipmunk. I did some searches and found numerous suspects....squirrel, skunk, fox, possum possibly digging for grubs. Any ideas what it could be and how to deter it or get rid of it? Its definitely happening at night.

Rabbits are nesting a lot right now. I have about 6 nest all around the yard. They do it quick too. I mowed the other day and half hour later she was standing over a fresh nest of babies.

Definately a skunk, after the grubs. Get rid of the grubs or your grass will be brown in August.

If you know anyone with a trail camera that's used for hunting set it up to catch the picture.
