It's not 'normal' to have polar vortexs, its climate change.

    I love the new terms.

But it is going to get cold.
    Sounds like a systemic problem

Wind is blasting here in Mystic. Whole back of my house faces due West/NW. There's a serious breeze in several of the rooms.

It's gonna get worse. It started here about 8 and it's gotten worse over the last hour.

Polar vortex is around all year round, stronger in the winter and weaker in the summer. Nothing new just a new thing that the media have picked up on to sensationalize what is happening with this particular one and put more drama into there reporting. This one has come further south this year then in the past few years but it is not uncommon, it has happened many time before. It will eventually go back north reload and move again south during winter months to produce more cold.It can also influence the winter and snow across the country.Mets base there winter weather forcasting sometimes on how strong and the placement of the future PV during the winter months. People who follow weather as a hobbie or professionally this word is nothing new. Little info on the PV as it is referred too

It's so cold the Jehovah's Witness are making phone calls
