We did because we fish braid, but haven't trolled spoons that much since the change, has been more of a snag and drop or jig bite recently. I believe we have caught at least one bass on it since the change though, but i can't confidently say it has changed for the better or worse without some more time pulling the spoons.
I would really want to hear why you are changing.
If additional weight is needed, use a drail.
I've always used wire & braid, but always had a 20' mono leader. So adding a drail between the wire or braid before the mono shocker will not change the action.
Why don't you ask Tony? I'm sure there is a reason for the weight to spoon size. He is a sponsor here and if you send him an email or PM I am sure he would answer....
Yeah what about them? I always cut them off, should I leave them on??
