Jim from Coastal did mine 2 yrs ago, he did a great job.
I think there are 2-3 sponsors on here that do it.

For a 30 foot boat, I am guessing around $1k (give or take something).

Young's Fiberglass does that type of work as we had our 17' whaler done there this fall. Amazing how clean the hull came out. They are a sponsor on here btw.

Chris from Gale Force is the best around. Viking and Jersey Cape use him all the time! 610 283 8021 He is based in Cherry hill, NJ but travels anywhere!

When I needed this done, I called the expert, Mike Denitz from Modern Soda Blasting, at 215-570-7650.....who did awesome work for me. He did exactly what my boat needed, which was to leave the west marine epoxy coat, while stripping away years of bottom paint build up.

Once he finished, he took away all the by products and didn't leave an ounce of soda powder behind. EVERYBODY I know who has used Mike, both large and small boats alike, have been very happy.

I had mine done three years ago. The rate then was about $55 per foot. That was for a 34X13 hull. Smaller or larger, per foot prices may vary.

For me, at most a knot or 2 but I only did it because I could not get paint
to stick anymore....falling off in sheets and obviously was never prepped right when I bought it. Got to be a real PITA every spring so I bit the bullet and had it done. Was a ton of elbow grease work after it was blasted, even for 3 guys, but worth it now since I haven't had to do anything but touch up the last 2 years.

I can't say that I noticed much of any gain, since the bottom wasn't excessively paint loaded before I had the blasting done. I had just purchased the boat (6 years old) and figured I'd get a fresh start on the bottom.

I second the work from Modern Soda Blasting. He did my boat and it came out great. I would not use anyone else.

    Thumbs up Soda Blasting

I had my bottom done too. It was by far the best way for the job and well worth the money .
