Default 38 Henriques - HUGE performance gain!!

Just wanted to alert 38 Henriques owners to a NEW series of variable pitch propellers manufactured by ACME MARINE and available
    through ATLANTIS PROPELLER-

Test Boat was the 2000 38 Henriques "RESEARCH" owned and operated by John Lane of FORKED RIVER DIESEL.

    2000 38 Henriques
    480 Volvos @ 2600 Rated
    1.769:1 gears
    24 x 29 DQX Nibral , Certified Class S , .105 Cup , .75 DAR , 1.75 Bore
    2250 Cruise 24 KNTS
    2640 WOT 31.5 KNTS

This boat was believed to be completely "dialed in", and the numbers were above average already. But the owner (always seeking ultimate performance),
decided to try the NEW ACME variables.

    Full Sea Trial data shortly....

Basically this already dialed in boat had a 2 knt increase right where you want it at cruise!

Keep in mind this is a FULLY loaded 38 Henriques. Full 400 gallon main tank. Full 70 gallon aux tank. Full water, gear etc..

Now touching 26 knts at 2250 with 480 hp!

    ACME FULLY CNC'D NIBRAL PROPELLER
    25 x 30 1.75 Bore .80 DAR .045 Cup
VARIABLE pitch (28.78 Avg Pitch )

According to the owner the boat now sits at the perfect attack angle at cruise with NO TAB. ( tabbing down now produces NO increase in speed )

What has happened, because of the ACMEs unique design allowing the motors to turn more diameter more efficiently is an increase in
stern lift-and thus a perfectly balanced boat at cruise...

First 2 sets based on this NEW Acme design will be available May 5th and then May 30th. One set is already sold.

    Thanks,
    ATLANTIS

What did they do to the design? Play with the rake and cup?

Thanks for this. I have ACME props on my boat (you have tuned them for many seasons!! Thanks) and was curious what the difference is with this new Series. I did not see anything about it on their website. The ACME props did improve my performance from my prior wheels and because of the CNC process allowed them to make a 21.5" diameter wheel that greatly improved my performance from the 21" wheel I had (22" too close to hull bottom).

    Thanks Adam.

Guys just want to make it clear this is application specific.
We are not saying this design will work for every boat in every situation.
In fact there are times when a good constant pitch prop (such as an ACME or DQX) might be a better choice.

What we are saying is that on a 38 HENRIQUES with 450 hp or better this new design OUTPERFORMS constants.
The best part is the testing/expense has already been done for you!

    Thanks,
    ATLANTIS

I switches from 3 blade no name nibrals to the three blade Acme three years ago and had very similar results... now tabbing doesn't increase speed any more. I used to need about 25% tab to get the best results. Now I leave them fully retracted and only use them to level side to side when the crew is all at the table plating cards lol. I also picked up Two full knots on the cruise plus they are just smoother throughout. My boat jumps on plane literally. I can almost pull my sons arms out of the sockets when he skis off of it...... if Acme asked me I would do commercials for them. Money well spent..
