Any action in the Cape May Rips? I'll be down later today. I'm trying to get a plan for tomorrow. Rips maybe for Stripers or bay for Flounder.????

My friend fished the rips last night until 2a.m. and didnt even have a touch. He usually is on them pretty good...fished with herring and spots and nothing!! Sorry for the bad report! This was actually the third trip out for him and skunked all three times.

Made the long run with one of our charters Thursday looking for a couple of big stripers and nothing. Marked lots of bait around stakes on way up from Cape May plus tried for a while around Maui and 14 foot light and no bites. Yesterday tried around Pin Top-Brandywine with fresh bunker around drum fleet for around 3 hours and only big sharks on the bunker. Had planned to fish the rips late at night on outgoing but changed plans and tried chunking instead. I am betting they will be on the rips or in our area around next moon phase as water still only 59 late last night at end of incoming at least on my machine. Had water in 70's up around number 31 bouy on Thursday. If I was going today I would go up north of 14 foot light house and try that area as there was large bunker schools present.

My friends who fish the rips religiously said this week has been dismal. There have been more numerous and much bigger stripers caught this week from the surf than from the rips for alot, not all, folks who fish the rips at CM.

BTW, the bunker schools are also right at the shoreline being marauded by dolphins, stripers, and blues. It's been a banner week on the beaches!

I was up the bay near 14ft to 19 both Wed and Thurs and the schools of bunker were huge. All day on thus they were flippen around the boat as far as the eye could see. :)
