Found many many bunker schools in front of the middle of IBSP around
1 PM today. They were everywhere from the beach to 1 mile out.

Many of them were so thick they looked like lava moving in the water.

There were no blues chasing them that could be seen and no stripers
on or below them. Tried everything from livelining to trolling around and
through them.

Some of the bunker schools were so big that if there was multiple groups
with a funnel between them I would troll through the funnel, first I wanted
to be able to cast both ways, second, I wanted to see if there was any
bass on my fishfinder, also if they were shallow enough, I would try to
net them.

The other thing I would do is if I saw another boat chasing them and the fish moving the other way, I would go above them, kill my motor and
wait for them to come to me.

Friday eve We Hunted from 5pm -7:30pm from mantaloking south to the IBSP coast guard station, NADDA, Nothing, no sight of bunker, only a few patches
of small blues. Water temp was a cool 52/53 in front of IBSP and For sure the strong sw wind changed the situation, anyone have any other input ?, Sunday @ daybreak we will hunt again, despite the same wind forecast.

Taking my boat out tomorrow, first outing of the season ...after alot of maintainance work. I hope I can score a few larger bass. I've been fishing the surf up in Monmouth county but, havent caught a bass over 14 lbs. It would be nice to put more than 4 or 5 lbs of striper Fillets in the freezer. Thanks for the I.B.S.P. report guys.....Thats my home waters out of Barney light.....................

Frayed Knot,

Were you up off of IBSP or out of little egg? I was considering running outside today, but with the wind humping, we decided against it.
