Made the long run with one of our charters Thursday looking for a couple of big stripers and never had a bite. Marked lots of bait around stakes on way up from Cape May plus tried for a while around Maui and 14 foot light and no bites there also. Yesterday tried around Pin Top-Brandywine with fresh bunker around drum fleet for around 3 hours and only big sharks on the bunker. Had planned to fish the rips late at night on outgoing but changed plans and tried chunking instead. I am betting they will be on the rips or in our area around next moon phase as water still only 59 late last night at end of incoming at least on my machine at the mouth of the bay. Had water in 70's up around number 31 bouy on Thursday. If I was going today I would go up north of 14 foot light house and try that area as there was large bunker schools present. From my sources I am being told the big post spawners are still up as far as the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Will give chunking another try for a while tonight around Brandywine by about to give up on stripers and concentrate on Black Drum on the next few trips coming up this weekend and early new week. Then it's time for sharking on our boats. Probably going to try rips around June 12,13,14,15 at night unless I hear of a good bite somewhere on stripers in the next few days.
