7/20/07 Ziggy B

[Striper Queen]

Went Striper fishing Friday night on the Ziggy B, eeling at the Shrewsbury Rocks. Water temp was 70 and we fished 3 spots all between 20 and 35 feet deep.

Evening started out really nice, but then westerly winds started to blow at least 20-25 and it got really snotty out there.

3 anglers on board, one gent brought in 2 stripers, the first weighting 18 lbs as weighted on a boga. The second was 39 inches long, but I could not read the boga very well, but know for sure it was over 20 lbs. http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/smilies/up.gif

Will definately be fishing the Ziggy B again if they do any more open charters, but hopefully I will do more next time than go along for the ride. http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/smilies/wallmad.gif

nice fish, was the tide going to high ?the weather has been bad winds last few days.good job and nice pic.

I really didn't pay attention to what the tide was doing. It was rough and I was just trying to stay upright. The first fish was caught around 10pm and the second around 11:30pm.

Shrewsburry Rocks, but put in our time and weathered some pretty rough winds.
