got a 19lb fish off the beach on lbi last weekend. but wouldnt bet $$$ on doing it with any regularity this time of year. although, as long as the water temps stay down in the 60's you got a legit shot.

Just got off the cell phone, my buddy is in Cape May, he was fishing off some rocks, at midnight. He landed 7 that were around 24-26 inches, and lost 2 at the rocks around 20 pounds. All caught on Blood worms!!!

Thanks for the response. I might take a trip down to Cape May this weekend. I Was going to try the back bays for Fluke but i didnt get much striper fishing done in the spring so i wanna brake in my new Shimano Thunnus by hooking into a couple stripers...

Good Luck with your trip and quest for the linesiders. As for the reel, great choice, but I think it may be a bit overkill for summer stripers seeing that there are not many that are biting that will test that reel to the fullest, just wait for the fall pond chunking time, you will LOVE that reel.
Light tackle would make pulling those 20-25" class fish off the banks and bars alot more fun, but either way, have fun and give us a report when you get back!!!!
