TWIN D'S

Headed out this morning at 6:30AM from Longreach. Saw a cownosed ray in the river just after leaving the dock, a first for me. Currents were predicted to be very light, which they were. Figured to catch the first of the ebb at the Maull, which I did. Had 3 or 4 good drifts while the breeze was very light, not a touch out there. I mean not a touch.
Headed NE into flounder alley. Began to drift..... at .2k.....northwest. That's right, the ebb current was so light that the SE breeze had me going AGAINST the current to the NW. Anyone who fluke fishes knows that this is not good. I gambled on the wind speed part and I lost.:D Anyway, fished a bunch of rigs and colors with fresh meat, from 17-45 feet, about 15 shorts and one 19" keeper. The keeper was caught with a 2" long Colorado blade, holographic, about 1.5" wide, in front of a B2 with a round bend hook, and dressed with a fluke ribbon about 8" long.:D
