Welcome. Are you locked in on Newport? Maybe make the trip to Cuttyhunk?

give the guys at the saltwater edge a call they can hook you up with a good captain.

definitely go to saltwater edge on aquidneck ave. Those guys will steer you in the right direction- they may even run charters themselves.

I fished with Capt Tim Flaherty (www.flahertycharters.com (http://www.flahertycharters.com)) in late June and we boated all the stripers in the 22-36 inch range we wanted- plus 10-15 chopper blues... he runs a 31ft whaler and has been fishing the area for 30 yrs- very knowledgeable and great to fish with!

That made me chuckle. Get married on a boat.

If you want to fish from shore, this is perfect for you..:

http://www.amazon.com/Fishing-New-England-Rhode-Island/dp/0970653816

this is the book we used to map out our first road trip to Rhody... it has detailed information on the best fishing spots in RI... worth every dime.. we have been back 6 times and still use it as a reference when we are planning our days....
