I got invited to fish in the upper Chesapeake Bay with my son and some good friends of mine. I was a little shocked to be chartering in the summer for stripers....but my buddy said the bite was good and he was kind enough to invite me and my little fishing buddy, Timmy.

We left Monday afternoon and had an awesome Dinner at Annies. Not sure of the exact town name, but we were right near the Kent Narrows Bridge. We met at the boat- a 46foot working style boat at 6am on Tuesday. The Cappy had the trolling gear out and the 800 Tekotas with wire line. We were trolling large, red surgical tubes with drail weights. It did not take long to hookup and these fish were bigger then we expected. I thought we would be down there catching 18" schoolies- but we put a hurting on 24"-32" fish.

We were limited out with 10 keepers before 7:45 and the kids did a super job of pulling in these frisky fish on larger tackle. With several hours to go on the charter- we decided to switch gears and go perch fishing in the bay a little. The kids had a ball pulling up tons of perch and we even caught some spot.

Here are the boys with their catch:

And here is my little buddy Timmy doing holding up his pride and joy:

Next with Timmy- brown sharking.

Thanks everyone.

The spot were pretty big down there. We did hack one up for perch bait and those little pieces did REAL well on the larger perch.
