Fished Mid afternoon to 1 hr after sunset Sat.. did not see any bird play nor could find any bait pods. Zipped around from the lower east bank & romer, out about 4/5 miles past the shipping approaches with some party boats and finished chumming on the incoming. Lots of junk fish (huge sea robins). No blues or stripers :(.
Good day as it was my 1st time out this summer/fall and needed to shake down the boat and gear for the oncoming season.

You are off to a bit of a late start, but, the best fishing of the year will be shortly upon us. If you are headed out again in the next few weeks and could use a hand finding some fish, I will be out there somewhere , I answer to "Procastinator" on the VHF, and the boat is the " Rodbender II ".

we were in sandy hook last wed , the 26th, much the same
fished with allen riley and a few others , not a fish seen, and
from what i understand , except for the previous week , and
from a boat its been pretty dismal off the beach so far ,
