Fished the CM rips yesteday but did not produce much. Some small blues.
Birds all over but just baitfish.
On the way in fished off of Wildwood and caught some croakers.
Water temp still to warm for stripers.

Strongly disagree with this. They are around all year, you just have to work for them during the warmer months when they are sitting deep. I know most say the bite turns on around 55-60 degrees, but decent bass can be had all year long and in most temperature water. To catch them at 55-60 degrees merely means less work . . . at least for me. Just keep working for them, you'll get 'em! Later in the fall when you get one, just keep tossing your lure/bait right where you caught. They are schooled up in the cooler water and usually take less effort to catch. Just gotta find 'em.

OK-since the rips can be shallow what do you consider deeper and where

I was responding to your statement about it being warm still, not really arguing you about location. I don't fish from a boat, so my experiences are somewhat limited to the shore and bays. Try the back bays at night though. You save gas for one thing, and you'll be very surprised at what you can catch back there.
Tight lines!
