Where did the stripers go? I know some people are finding small bass around, but I had more luck in the summer months than I have had so far this fall. They are few and far between and I haven't heard any reports of steady catches.
I know the temp needs to drop to get rid of some of the junk fish that are around, but I never had a problem finding bass up until the past 2-3 weeks. Where did they go? Are they on the move and just not feeding yet?
I've tried the sods with bait and plugs, no luck, and also the beaches with plugs, chunks of clam, kingfish heads, and bunker heads. No luck there either.
What changes in strategy do you guys take this time of year?

I think during the summer they take up their usual feeding lanes night in and night out picking off all the bait around. Therefore, you can find those resident bass consistently. Now that the bait is on the move a bit I believe that you will find the bass where you find the best food supply.

They haven't gone anywhere, there is just so much bait around they can be picky about when and what they eat. I Bagged 3 the other night up 32". It wasn't easy, had to really work for them and try allot of different place and baits. They would not hit artificial at all. I watch a couple rollup to look at my poopers and turn & to head for the live bait. They are lazy fish and don't want to work to hard for their meal. I will say this, I ended up fishing a little deeper then I would normally fish this time of year.

That's why I have been targeting weaks recently. This is the transition time between the summer pattern like ryanf said, and the influx of the migratory stripes. So neither one is happening right now. With this change in weather it won't be long, though.
