Fished sat for 5 hours with fresh bunker on the in coming tide with out a bump of or tug. I did not see another boat anchored up or fishing the back bay of sea isle until I pulled anchor. Maybe I am missing something.

This was not a good year for me. I changed baits, moved to various locations, different leader lengths. Nothing seemed worked for me this year in the back bay.

Time to pull the boat.

I have had similar results back and front of SI. clams, bunker, eels, bucktails, this has not been my year either, but I have fished less than other years...got one or two shots left before I pull the boat:(

Pistol Pete,

I do not understand the fish this year. I fished the back hard everyweek.

Well I hope you find them before you pull the boat.

I kept my boat in SIC @ various spots for about ten years. I would fish the normal 2 week vaca. & every other chance I could. Sometimes every week, other times I would miss for weeks. I work for myself and have young kids. I noticed a steady decline in my catches. I know their are guys who still do good. I know a lot more that are going thru the same thing. 2 years ago a thought it was me. Trailered the boat up north. Wham, right on them. I started fishing diff spots and have had much better luck. We did not even VACA there this year. Not knocking the town, I have spent a lot of time and coin down there, but my priorities have changed. The huge rip rap project that they put in @ TI on the Avalon side was I big factor. I do not live down there but a swear that the current flow increased big time. I could always run out front to the lump or around back to some of the creeks and always pick up some fluke/blues/SB, but not recently. My ten year old son is starting to get into fishing and when we head out he say's I do not want to go to SIC because we never catch anything there.
Good luke to you guys , I hope your luck is better then mine.

I dont know about bass but flounder are in the early season is SI. The fish move out to the reef sites in the mid summer. I had some good fishing there the fish just move around. Try Pats hole for bass in avalon.:o Good luck next year. gibsons and the hodgepodge will give you the hot spots.

Brovawhiskey----sometimes you just need to know where to look but one less boat in the area is always beneficial to those of us you catch fish in the area daily from April to Dec
good luck wherever you fish in upcoming year

Should have went out front and looked for birds on the troll. Then when you find them jig the fish up. The later the season gets the better the Striper fishing gets along the beaches.
