I have been going out it but seems shallower this year as opposed to last year, with a shift to the east. Anyone using this inlet routinely, conditions permitting?

If you use an uncharted inlet and you get swamped or damage or god forbid anything worse, I am told by my insurance agent that I will not be coeverd for it (Allstate). You are in an inlet that is not offically charted.

The only times I have gone thru that inlet i was following someone else at a safe distance. If they run aground I have time to abort

I have used it all summer without difficulty unless it's really blowing hard. The cut has shifted, but it has been very user friendly to me all season.

Thanks for that info. Kevin, I fish that hole on occassion near your slip, I would image the thought of using Townsend's or Cape may inlet is as appealing to you as it is to me. It's seems like you have to watch the tides thiis time of year when using it as I have seen more white water than I care to. John

Yes I hear ya John. Just exercise caution and plain old common sense. If it looks too bad to run, then it probably is. Just have to go around.
