I have a small hummingbird Fish Finder. You can put in a perryville state park and you go directly in front of the VA Hospital where all the Topwater action is when there is any. Need to go off about a mile but once your there the water is about 2 - 3 ft deep.

By the way I would not recommend bringing a boat unless you know the water well. You could find yourself on a sand bar for a long time(months). Perfect for the kayak

JC - the Maryland DNR webpage that has those maps also provides very detailed fishing reports each week. A guy named Angel Bolinger keeps it updated and if you have questions about where to go you can e-mail him and he will get back to you. He has for me in the past.

Clamchucker - you have obviously never have been trolling for bass on the chessy before. It's productive but it is the most boring way to fish and catch bass. Just reeling in the umbrella rigs will tire you out. And when a fish hits you do not stop the boat because all the other lines will tangle. therefore you muscle the fish in while running. Can't even feel it fight...sucks in my opinion. Better to go a little later when chunking is more productive.

If you go make sure to check the regs because when and where you are makes a difference. Bay proper vs rivers and tribs., etc...
