Well we hardly broke the inlet and had birds and bass right off the get go!:D We ran north chaseing bait and birds all day and it was insane! Loads of bass to 15lbs but mostly schoolies! We got um on top water:) plugs, cripple herring and swimshads. Lots o fun on light tackle. One of the bigger fish I got had some nasty cuts and came to the boat bleeding:eek: check out the pic! Seas were flat as you can see!!!

We really should not post any more photos which includes any land
references, because that would also be spot burning.
We also need to make sure we do not inlcude any boat photos, because
some people might be able to figure out where the boat is from and
draw logical conclusions.
If some people gain the knowledge from the photos because they can
figure out the reference points, and others cannot, is that fair?
How many inlets have a tower on the north side? Most of us can
figure this out, but the new guy who is starting who is trying to learn
the area, we should help him? We should just keep this to ourselves?
Also, do you think it matters???????????????
I don't know how many times I have gone out the next day after a
positive report on an area and found nada, no fish, birds, ......
Fish move, tides, winds all affect their behaviour, but bottom line
is that from one day to the next, they might not be there.
Its nice though to get a general starting point.
I do not see the above comments as spot burning, someone going
out tomorrow will have to experiment, try different places, different
methods, adapt and overcome.
Kevinj
KevinJ...as the internet is one dimensional it is hard to detect the inflection of the poster....but in this case i do believe they're KIDDING:D its fall and the fish are out front!!!!

CC19,
I hear the term spot burning on these sites so much I am tired of it.
I see these guys on shore with their cell phones calling all of their buddies,
when things are hot
I see all the charter captains calling each other when they found a good
spot.
Everyone else is helping others learn where the fish are. Why should we not also help each other learn?
I probably overreacted a little......
Kevinj
No problem kevinJ...the site says at the top...NO SPOTS. i can see the wisdom of that in the back or on the surf. Even wrecks and some fluke spots. Stripers are another matter in the fall in you ask me and I agree with you. This is not the place to do it though. People will crucify you here. The matter has been talked to death. Do a search on it and you'll get a billion pages on it. This is a great place and as you get to know people the spots cometh. Just not on the open board.

terry s , you have to be kidding me , loosedrag was just giving a report and was so blan about his report and you still find something to bitch about. people like you are why this site and many others will never be the same. if you had any real idea how to find bass or any fish for that matter you would know that in the fall fish move and move fast ,so a report that says shark river inlet means nothing!!!!!!!!!. i'm so sick of this spot thing ,it's a big ocean and there is bird play all over at every inlet so get over yourselve, i'm sure your mom has dinner ready!!!!,matt

internet egos are killing fishing, a little discression goes a long way. You post your reports with no clue to how many people are going to showup the next day and you dont care because you dont LIVE HERE and wont be back tommorrow.

got to agree with sweet release1, it doesn't matter if one gives a detailed report.. who can guarantee the fish will be in the same spot the next day.. they're always on the move... we caught over 50 stripers out of Barnagat inlet yesterday, went back to the same spot the next day and got 3. so what does that tell ya....most people know this even the weekend warriors:rolleyes:

I am confused where you get your information
I live in NJ, fish here all throughout the year, in prime time such as now
I will probably fish two or three times a week. In June I will usually be
out almost every day.
I absolutely see the results and impact of people who post a location.
On the weekends in NJ, it does not matter if someone posted or not,
weekends are going to be filled anyway, everywhere in northern NJ.
During the week, I have seen little boat impact on postings of locations
as I have been there.
I do not believe your theory that during the week, if people read a
posting on the Barn of a place, thousands of people will take off from
work and fish that area.
Might I add, most of us know that here today gone tomorrow usually
implies for stripers, they move, you have to work to find them, sometimes
it is a little helpful to know where to start.

Huh? Guys post boat reports every day from the Raritan Bay to the Delaware Bay and all points in between. Look at the striper forum and you can have a field day bashing 100's of guys. Unreal.
BTW- they're killing them again today!

Give loosedrag a break. This time of year, who cares??? There a enough fish around for everyone. And as someone else said, does it even matter in the summer when there a hundreds of boats out anyway on all the well known spots?? Have you ever been to Hudson canyon on weekend in Sept??? Are they all spot burners???? I spoke to loosedrag on the radio Wed. and he was very helpful i post alot of reports and try to help and also on the radio. This is Jersey, with boats and fisherman all over. If you want it all to yourself, try Alaska.

Since I don't believe that Loosedrag's description of the 'spot' was quite sufficient, I'm going to elaborate. I'm sure that this bit of information will bring all of NJ's saltwater anglers and many from bordering states to the exact location. Birdplay started just a few hundred yards from the inlet, lasted at least 25 minutes. It then proceeded to travel up and down the coast from approximately 12 miles north to a mile south of the inlet, from surfcasting distance from the beach out to approx two miles. By my estimate, approximately 26 square miles of water were dotted with several areas of birdplay at any given moment. Of course, I'm sure if gas prices were not so exorbitant, fish could have been found every few miles along the coast.
Point being... It's December! There are only a limited number of people who are willing to get their boat in the water and chase fish. It's the final run of fish down the coast and up the rivers. Nothing is concentrated in a spot, and if you feel that adding a few more lures to the water is going to affect the outcome of your day, you need to get a life and a new hobby!
This is the time when you don't need to work to find fish. Share some info, Scrooge! Make somebody's day... Maybe a youngster out for the first time.
BTW, Loosedrag has been out of SRI at least 4 times in the last two weeks. I'm sure he'll be out again next week, providing info for anyone who would like it. So the argument about no intention to fish the same area again doesn't hold water.

Loose Lips SINK SHIPS you are the worst spot burner on the web!
You have to be kidding us right? To call the man the worst spot burner on the web is an insult and I believe you owe Mike an apology. All the man did was say he found some bird play north of the inlet.Being a Charter Captian you know there's ALOT of water north of that inlet, and bird play moves every day..Also because they are there today don't mean they'll be there tomorrow. It's people like you that make guys not even want to put a report, which is not why this site was started.
If your reading this site it is probably for the info right.........,so let the man put up his report without being insulted by you.
Or how about everybody just report that they caught fish in the OCEAN today, and leave it that.would that be OK with you?

You call yourself a guide TerryS? Thats gotta be the best joke i've heard in awhile. Complaining about someone posting bird action in December? LOL!! You sure you've been doing this long enough to get paid for it? I live close to the beach and I'm really careful on the SPOT burning, but your just plain silly. There's action off the beach from Cape may all the way up the coast. Silly!

Loose Lips SINK SHIPS you are the worst spot burner on the web! Just by chance if there are 20 boats in the bird play and you are one of them, 19 boats move over to the bigger bird play where there are bigger keeper fish, you mean to tell us you are not going to move to that spot because you you don't want to be a spot burner?
SOME DAY SOME WHERE THERE WILL BE A RETURN FAVOR
I might change the name of my boat to "spot burner" just to help other guys out.
