my favorite striper season is not fall, is not spring, but summer
because i get incredible action on the top water bite all summer long,
zara spooks, heddons, and smack its put a hurting on the jaws of those resident bass.

Nothing like topwater, I've had a striper hit so close to the boat that I got wet from the splash:eek: :) Just awesome when a big fish explodes on top...

I remember the first fish to hit a topwater, it was about 1:30 am off the pocket of a jetty in Bradley Beach the fish pounded a black Knucklehead Creek chub less than 5 ft from the rocks, as I paused to lift the plug up to recast,,I got so excited when he took the plug and made his run parallel with the beach I tightened my drag He turned for the open water, and got me wrapped on the rocks at the tip of the jetty and popped the plug...Now I never touch my drag, and I WEAR KORKERS on the jetties..Lessons learned the hard way,,,,I have never had a big fish take a top water so close to be able to see his gills from the inside of its bucket mouth at night again.. But, still looking for the Thrill....Hooked on Fishing
Liv 2 Fish
Forced 2 Work..
