I drove over the Highlands bridge today and saw a huge concentration of birds feeding on something about one mile off the southern most part of Sandy Hook beach. I thought about running home and getting my surf pole but they were well out of reach. Anyone have any thoughts on what's out there?

Too little fishing lately. Maybe the birds were just a mirage.:D

The Hook is a strange place. It was just light refracting from the atmosphere. Really there is nothing there.

After being on the Hook more than 185 days a year for the past 4 years, I've noticed that about half the time, there's always birds working in that place. There's got to be something out there.

I see that you have a 23 ft maycraft pilothouse. I just bought an 07 left over how is the ride and does handle well?
