Did anyone see the episode on Versus? I'd like to know what reels they were using - they looked pretty sharp. I think they were Avets, but I could not get a good enough peek to figure it out.
Anyone know?

The looked like Avet reels to me...not sure if they were JX/LX or MX models though.

Not cheap but built like a tank. I just picked up my first Avet recently (used) from a fellow barner and was really impressed with the buidl quality. The TLDs are great reels though.

They were green avets, and worth every penny....I have three of them, and have never had a problem with them. These reels compare to the Penn Internationals,Accurates,Shimano Tiagras...when you price them out the reels are a good bargain...and made in the U.S.A.:)

Look at the price compared to other reels in that class. Penn Torque start at over 300 for a star drag model shimano over 350.We used the LX on some nice yft last year and whooped them with no issues.
