The Delaware Water Gap looked like choclate milk on Monday, with big trees floating down river. It may be a couple more days before things settle down.

The dirty water is most likely from some Republican big business polluting the Delaware.

Now, if we could only get the LIBERALS to establish a tax payer funded program where fish could be caught under these conditions........

The river under the BB Bridge is pretty awful still. Will take a bit to get all the crude outta the river.

Hey guys!

It sure was nasty!

Looked like Yoo-Hoo all over the D-bay.

We fished hard from south of Cape May up the bay a good ways, and it was dirt everywhere. With the very slow, neap tides and relatively constant strong westerlies, it will be a while cleaning up. I am bagging trips thru the weekend. We'll give it a try the end of next week.

Remember though, it is still quite early. Some years, they bite this early, but on average, 3rd to 4th week of March is when it really happens! Keep your eyes open!

George Bush's fault! :) :D ;)

Thanks Doug, Eric, Steve, Tom, and Sam for giving it a shot today. We had a great time, despite the terrible water quality and zero action as a result. Topics discussed included political affiliation, political prostitution, the value of the dollar, the offseason dealings of the Eagles, the choking of the Flyers the other night, and the cause of the high sub-prime rate! :) :D ;)

I've been watching the water in Trenton and it's high and fast moving. I was down at the ramp in Florence and there was a ton of wood in the water. The water is very high even at low tide, it's so high it's in the woods at rivers edge and it's picking up all the junk along the banks. It's like the river is flushing it's self out and getting ready for a nice spring and summer.;)

We knew it was a crap shoot going out today but a beautiful day it was. It was a good time just being on the water with a great bunch of guys and just having a chance to stick a striped one.

We just haven't had the right weather to get them started. Give us two or three days of light winds and 60 degree temps and some half way clean water and it will be game on. Dirty & cool water temps just aren't going to cut it. Last year it was about the third week before it was any good it will probably be close to the same this year.

That's it . I will not fish on boats that feature a bunch of right wing knuckle dragggin neanderthals like Doug the Tug!
Darnet that WAS Bush's fault that we did not catch any fish yesterday, you right wing extremists.
I'll bet you are all freaking NRA members to boot!

Seriously though.....was good to see the man , the myth the legend...and 3 of his regulars. Good to smell that salt air again.

Nice job Captain Adam and the Boss on the off-season spruce up. She's looking sharp!
Gonna be a great year.

The temps are OK, the dirty water is the problem. If you haven't seen it first hand, it is about as dirty as it could possibly be. It's going to take a week for that to clean up, especially with the super slow neap tides. By the end of next week, barring any torrential rains and continual strong west to northwest winds, it should be getting good.

Thanks again Doug, Steve, Eric, and company! It was fun!

Steve, thanks for the comment about the boat! We put some TLC in and she is looking good for a lot of fish killing in 2008!!!
