Before the report. I got a call from a buddy ,about a call he got busting my balls about posting that I was looking to see if someone wanted to go today due to a last minute cancellation I had, and about being a SPOT burner.
I'm still pissed. So, If you think I'm a SPOT burner now, then You just wait and see!
The way I see it. There are 2 kinds of fisherman. Report makers, and report chasers. Get it!
The report . Headed out with my buddy Dan. In the water at 9. 43 degrees and again, super duper dirty. I looked alover until we spooked some fish. We went to work plugging. As we drifted along we spooked many fish, but they wern't interested in our plugs. After about an hour, Dan got a hit and missed it. I had one follow and swirl boatside. Then nothing again for awhile. Made a boat adjustment and again found some fish. First cast a got hit and missed. Then another miss:confused: . A few cast later as I'm lifting the plug from the water a 35"+ bass comes up and grabs it as im lifting!! I only had about 2' of line out, and I saw it Barely get the back treble. I knew it wasn't a good hook set, and It quickly pulled about 30yrds of line. I played give and take with it, and of course...It came unbuttoned:( . I had a couple more half hearted hits, and then the wind increased to the point I had to get out of there.
The slightly cleaner water made a difference when I had the fish. And when I say slightly, I mean a solid 4" of visiblity. Other than that "clean:rolleyes:" water it was ZERO visibility. Could not see the plug till it was out of the water.
There you go gorbi.. a report to chase!!

hey George, You never burn the spots I take you to. One second thought thats probably because we never catch anything when I take you out in the boat.

I'm hearing that they are taking plugs with a rattle in them. Could be due to the dirty water... could be somewhere else.;)

Eelball, thanks for the report, it got my spring fever rushing as fishing season is upon us. I thank you.

Spot burning, are there really any areas that are not known by just about everyone? Very few! Google earth ect has made the issue of spot burning a misnomer IMO.

Keep 'em coming:)

In my opinion there is almost no such thing as spot burning anymore. Everywhere that us fisherman fish there are others who know about it and fish there. It looks as though your posts have been pretty general as far as where you have been fishing so I do not know why there has been busting of your balls.

I like hearing your reports and I am living vicariously through you while I wait up here on Cape Cod for the stripers to arrive.

Thanks. :)
