i dont fish there but was told today by someone who lives in carneys point you need a deleware license to fish the river?:confused: is he right?

Yes that part of the river is in the state of Delaware:o

The best way to answer ALL questions about the license is to go to Google Earth and view the Delaware state line on the image --- much easier to see in clear and colorful images!

The owner of the boat must have a Del. boat license,everyone else in the boat does'nt:eek:

Chris this is a message I received from Bob Ever on the topic.

Yes, but in DE (Eastern Marine in Newark for eg), you can get the applic online, and mail it in with a check, thats what I did, http://www.fw.delaware.gov/Services/Documents/Mail-in%20License%20Application%20-%202008%20Fishing.pdf

DE takes the position the river is theirs right up to the bank on the Jersey side. If you are on NJ side fishing from bank, you dont need a DE license. if you are NEAR the bank in a boat, you DO need a DE license.

The captain needs to purchase a boat license. He needs to wear his license & everyone on the boat is covered.

Better check that the captain didn't buy an individual license. If thats the case everyone onboard must also purchase a fishing license.:eek:
