I'm gonna be getting the boat in the water this week. I wanna net some bunker for the weekend. Has anyone been out in the bay seeing bunker schools in an area consistanlty? I hear that Jamaica Bay has pleanty but I dont wanna head that way.

I have to run about 20-25 mile so I'd rather not burn fuel all day searching. They are usually in Great Kills but that's a little later in the season.

yeah - I am running down the hudson to my slip in Shark River. I thought I'd put some feelers out there for bait before I head down.

If it helps any I snaged 35 bunker up in the Naveasink river last thursday,
if I had my net I could have loaded up.
They were all over the place, nice to see them this early.
They can only get back there from the bay!

I hear ya, I thought you were running from Shark to the Raritan & back to Shark. Good Luck with the marine forecast this week! I hear the inlet shoaled up more over the winter with some rollers at the mouth. They just dredged it.
