Ken R. brought his buddies down to fish today and fortunately they came prepared for the weather we encountered. Strong North wind and chilly air temps made for a rather unpleasant crossing at first light. The churned up waters and difficulty manuevering showed us real quick that jigging the Flats wasn't going to work out so well.
Begrudgingly we battened down and ran up the river to get out of the wind and hope to find some fish.
Well it was much nicer there and we spent the morning doing much of nothing (except hooking a few decent fish).
51 degree water temp up there and lots of bait running around. Clarity not bad coming out of the Susky. Northeast River side was real murky while the waves were rolling.
No huge monsters but these guys provided a little fun just the same:

Gracious host Ken knows enough to fish this place himself but was kind enough to help put his friends on some fish. I appreciate you all coming down and spending the morning with me. Thanks guys.
