Good: Superb Weather, pretty decent water clarity, water temps in the upper 50s to 60 late in the day.

Bad: The fish are off the feed. Lure bite was almost non-existent and even the herring drowners having a hard time with 0 - 3 fish.

Dennis and his buddy came all the way from Cape May this morning and we beat the Flats to a froth with a wide selection of lures. I'd say it was a slow day but slow would have better than what we got. No skunk! But wow tough fishing. spoke with a few other guides and all had similar experiences today.

Sorry for the news but that's the honest scoop.

We always have a slump in the flats fishing when you have colder weather as it has been the last three nights. It will pick up with the warmer temps. The Herring weren't running either.

Do you think with the water temps that the fish are doing their annual move to the rivers to get ready to spawn? That would explain the lack of fish on the flats.
