Hi everyone! I'm coming up to northern NJ for the month of June and wanted to see if I could get some fishing advice. I'm trailering up my boat (16' bay boat) and plan to get out a few times. Advice focusing from the lower hudson, raritan bay to a little south of Sandy Hook appreciated.

Below are my questions and you can respond to (baio44@gmail.com) if you do not want them public. I will keep all responses to that address confidential. Additionally, to show my gratitude I will send all great responses NY Yankee or NY Giants memorabilia for free, just e-mail me your address.

Questions: I promise not to use this information for more than a few times during June and will not give any info away to anyone if you do not wish.

1) What are some good fishing spots? (ie: GPS numbers for great spots, wrecks, rocks, bouys)

2) What rigs / techniques should I use for stripers and blue (I'm used to redfish and snook)

3) What test line ranges should I have rigged for 5 rods? Feel free to pair line test with rig and set-up (I have 1 conventional and 4 spinning)

4) Where can I get good live bait?

5) Any great fishing stores?

6) Where are the good boat ramps for the lower hudson and raritan bay?

Thank you again and, again, I will reward all great answers to show my appreciation.
Looking forward to fish NJ and contribute to your economy!

Asking those kind of questions both here and at the HRFA site, this guy obviosly is not from this neck of the woods.
GPS coordinates? For real?

You seem like a nice guy Jeff, but the fishing up here can get crowded. Nobody is going to email GPS spots to a stranger so they can compete for turf out there. Good try though.

Why not help the guy out ? Do you think he's gonna catch every striper in the northeast ?

Jeff,
An easy way to find fish in the Bay is to look for boats and bait. Early June can be really good Bass fishing around Flynn's Knoll or Romer Shoal. There a a lot of spots in the upper bay too. The shoal at Buoy 19 can put out also. Fish fresh Bunker(pogey) chunks on the bottom and you will catch fish.
Good Luck and dont tell any one ok.

That really is the answer. Follow the fleet. Or you can troll the channels. Or if you can find bunker, snag some and then stay close because the big fish will be near. The bay is like a big lake, shallow and consistent apart from the channels and a few holes (off Keyport).

Stay away from the Jersey side though, it can get pretty shallow on those flats and it can come up on you fast. Good Luck!
