keyport ramp

I am looking to try raritan bay for the first time. Is ketport municipal ramp my best bet or is there a better place to put in. I am trailering an 18 CC. Thinking about clamming at romer. not sure if I want to deal with Getting bunker at GK. any advice I am taking a frien that has never caught stripers or big blues. I my try some trolling also any help in ageneral area to try would be great. I normallyn fish from Belmar to Barn. but it seems slow right know.

I know the town was working on the ramp this year. I believe it is open. As a backup, if you don't have a T-top try keyport marine basin. A little difficult to find in the dark.
Weather report fell apart. So I'm not sure if we will be going Saturday or Sunday.
I haven't heard of bunker being in keyport yet this year, but wouldn't be surprised if they were there anyway. Avoid GK this weekend as they are running a tournament out of it and it is sure to be a mess! I don't troll the back but see plenty doing it. Troll the chanell edges is my only advise.

I used to launch my 19' CC out of Keyport for years. The ramp isn't bad providing there isn't a crowd there using it. They did a nice job with the bulk heads and ramp area itself recently.

But, if you are going out to Romar it's not a bad idea to just launch at the Highlands. It makes for a nice short run to the fishing grounds.

Keyport is open. Was there yesterday. As far as Bunker in keyport, your nose knows.;)
