I think all the causeway anglers have wiped out OC's bait supply, hence the bass are forced up to the LE inlet and north ;) :)

LBI is just that much better than OC plus we have bars on our island

Put your time in. OC is loaded with decent bass. Avg bass right now is 32" with some 39" mixed in.

Most of those bass pass us before moving into that zone but their beaches have a much steeper drop off than we do. I guess that configuration allows the bass to pin the bait better and they stay longer.

If you want quality bass around OC you have to know where to go by boat or you have to be willing to get muddy in the marshes.

Because it's a dry town, and most of the houses are built inches apart from one another. Oh! You were talking about why the bass fishing sucks?

Try gong South also. Off capemay I have seen plenty of pods. I guess no reports on them all are hush hush:D But those pods move often and if your out front you will catch some of them. I guess its all about putting the time in and being at the right spot at the right time. I was in Stone Harbor with a buddy of mine cruising about 2 miles off the beach and saw large pods moving. We werent fishing at the time just moving his boat. Nice to see though.

I catch bass in OC year round.....almost.............but check the home port......doesn't sound like it stinks today:D

Found tons of bunker pods yesterday! NO BASS UNDER EM!!! snaged and live lined em and still NO BASS!

screw it... I am headed up to L B I today. my buddy has a 28 shamrock. GAME ON!

OC may not have the fish or the bars... but we have the best waves in South NJ! and the best surfers too! and thats really my number 1 hobbie/love!! so we win!
