Wife is out walking on OC beach and said there is bunker up and down the beach. The first time she called she didn't know what they were and was at 15th street. She called back and she talked to a guy snagging them and he told her that a huge bass swam past his feet. She is now on 32nd st. at 9:15 and it's still going on.
Hope this isn't spot burning!!!!

If I were you, I'd keep my rod and a weighted treble in my car at all time right now. Check each morning and if they are there call school and tell them the car broke down :D

They are still there, in tight and looking nervous, tried on Wednesday nothing but sharks. I am tempted to ditch work today.

I love it. One day you have everyone complaining no fish in OC and then this. I loved OC and cought fish more often then not out there. Just a little harder to find some days. Of course I wlooked for a flight to get outa here and hit the beach this weekend but thought better of it.

past 3 days has seen bunker off our beach.. fished first light yest. morning out front had a few shorts on plugs. then saw the bunker start to jump some dolphins had pushed a nice school close to shore (easily casting distance) just in time for me to have to goto work. went to work (on the boardwalk) and just watched the bunker as far as you could see running untill about 10am.

i fished mid island OC from about 8 till noon today...water was clean and pretty calm. Outgoing tide. Caught a few short stripers early on and i lost count of how many dogs i had....almost every cast after 9am resulted in a dog. Fresh clam on a hi-lo rig got the bites today. For about the first hour there were bunker jumping around right behind the waves.

When out twice this weekend. Found da bunker within minutes of leaving the inlet. all in 10 - 15 feet of water. More bunker than you could ever want or need. THERE ARE NO BASS UNDER THEM!!!! 00 0 0 000 THAT MEANS 0!
OC su cks. I guess you have tojust get really lucky in SJ to hook up with a beast.

We fished hard on Saturday from OC to Brigantine. We found all the bunker you want, but no bass. Maybe this was because there were 1000s of porpoise at every stop we made for that entire stretch - at least thats the excuse I'm using.

On Father's Day I was able to snag bunker from the beach in one spot in Brigantine. I was the only surf fisherman on the pod, along with one boat on the outside. As I stood there with a live one on my treble, I saw large fish charge through the pod once in a while, but certainly was not non-stop action. I had on bunker out for about 45 minutes before it got hit hard, I hesitated for a second and then proceeded to pull the treble out of the bait when I set the hook. :( Then the bunker moved out of casting range. The boat guys didn't land a fish. The bass that hit mine bait was on the beach side of the pod right around where the swell lifts up out of the ocean - I was standing in knee high white water.
