Sandy Hook - Surf

I haven't been to the Hook Surf fishing since I was a kid. Are there area's that are safe to fish during a week day? In "safe" i'm talking about staying clear of swimmers, etc.

Was thinking about taking the boys to the beach to wet a few lines next week.

The Fishing Beach would be a start. But some of the sun bathers don't catch on so quick. If you get there early enough you will be fine. You can only park on the right side of the road and when thats full they close it off.
