I know during the spring striper season the blues seemed to be everywhere, but how about now?. Is it over for the blues until fall?, or do they hang around all summer?
If someone knows the "where and why's" of the blues during the spring, summer, fall, I'd like to know when and why the migrate thru.
thanks

For those "Cocktail" sizes Bucktail Willie mentions try the sloughs that drain any bay at the bottom of the tide with your favorite lures. Look for about 5' of water at low tide. definately outside of any marked channel.
They will be around all summer, but at the high tide periods thay are up on the flats in 3' of water chasing the baits. Low tide concentrates them and even though there may be no ovious activity, they can't resist a chance to attack.
Sometimes you will find weakfish feeding on the same baits much shallower than the adverage angler will venture.

Dig Em:
Hit the Shrewsbury Rocks area ... there were so many bluefish there the other day anything that hit the water was immediately chewed.
