On Friday, July 18, Renegade hosted our 3rd open boat livelining striper open boat trip this week. Snagging bunker 3 miles offshore in 70 feet of water is challenging but we still managed 35 for the Renegade's oversized high capacity livewell. Searching around and setting up short to cover a few differect areas we finally got the call from one of the other Renegade network boats that the bite was ON. Fifteen minutes later 5 guys were hooked up with screaming drags on trophy bass 20-36 pounds all on whole bunker. Within 30 minutes we had caught and released over a dozen trophies. By afternoons end we had boated 19 trophy bass, releasing 12 and keeping 7 for the table as Renegade's 48" fish box was maxed out again. Great crew, great weather and great fishing. Next open boat Tuesday afternoon for trophy bass. Call early to reserve: 732-718-8339 as spots are filling fast.

Another nice catch, way to go!

I saw you yesterday afternoon drifting off Sea Girt while I was on the way out to the lumps to do some Flukin, and tried to call you on 65 to let you know I had just passed over a huge pod of bunker..... No answer on the radio, so I figured you guys were busy snagging bunker from another pod.

Nice marks on the screen, obviously they are still stacked up on the Rocks and the late PM bite is pretty dependable...

Great Post, thanks for the pictures..
This might be a dumb question... But.... Was the bunker alive when hooked or just fresh dead, or did it not matter?..

Yep, just look at the fishfinder screen he posted.
Shows the bass stacked up in 20 feet of water.

Well, just for some more sh*ts and giggles, what EXACLY is "3" miles?

3.00 or 3.99 (meaning less than 4 miles)?

(not being a wise ass, I'm really asking)
