Da Skiff

I was just cleaning the boat tonight and heard a few splashes. Threw a plug in the general direction, and bam nice schoolie bass, took him off the hook, sent him back to swim another day, second cast boom another one little smaller like 12 inches, sent him back.
Over the past two days i have seen quite of bit of action in the back behind North wildwood. Saw a guy catch a 30 inch fish right by the big bridge yesterday.
Tight lines,

I dont think you passed the right bridge then. I live down there in the summer and no one no matter your story has been there in the past 3 weeks. I dont know what bridge your saying people were at and talked to but you must of been smoking something other then a cig. I am not spot burning but I will tell you this the advice given on the spot burn thread is all in good for those who work hard at finding their own spots. Go ahead protect those as you do. I was shareing my experince here on the Barn with other anglers and if a bridge is spot burning then so be it i dont concider it a burn.:D

You have your opinon on it and I am telling you mine. I dont think the Barn and its founders concider it to be a problem. The barn is a fishing site developed for anglers to talk share and find other who share in their passion for fishing. I can take pictures and send post them of the bridge and show exactly were i was on the bridge would that help? Man this is so out of hand how you all think that spots are yours and the only time you should allow anyone notice of any fish there is on your terms. I believe fishing should be passed on to our kids and there kids and so on and for some one to think they own a spot is rediculas. I am all for the fishermen that put in time at the sport and triumph and catch alot of fish out of hard work thats great. God bless them. I am also for those who have interest in the sport to go and try and learn while they do the sport. If I can help in anyway I will do so. :)

that bridge goes crazy when mentioned on here. if u got some fish there good 4 u but please dont invite all of PA and everywhere else 4 the night.
i havent fished that bridge 4 a while, but lived 5 min. away for 25 yrs. one time i was the only one fishing a particular bridge in the area with my pops. we were catching 10-12 lbs bass almost every cast. one guy shows up and gets his 2 keepers and leaves. the next night people were lined up like something was being handed out 4 free. people with clam, surf rods, and all the other shoobie gear out there.
guess what -- when i started asking why... same answer -- read it on an online chat board.
u believe what u want but please consider that your actions do affect the kids and guys that check that bridge (and the similars in the area) as a nightly routine.
there are a lot of people that will take a look at one bridge once in a while and then there are the people that will work every bridge and all the "spots" inbetween EVERY NIGHT. not really fair if u dont do the leg work urself.
keep fishing and putting ur time in and it pays off 4 YOU!!!! y blab it all over the internet. just be respectful when u happen 2 get lucky. thats all.
(sorry so long -- it just really bothers me that some people think this bridge and others are just a known fishing area and can run their mouths about it. happens at least once a year).

No I walk to the bridge and use my Titan to go to others. I been going my hole life around South jersey and know quite a few fishermen that do the same. I generally keep to my self and try not to bother those fishing. My friend and I usally use his car oe jeep sometimes cause he has the set up to run the bridges and we go sometime late into the mournings depending on schedules but mostly fish the surrounding areas. I never have had such resentment about talking to people about my successes or failure and never had I been scolded for saying I caught a 23 inch striper. I think again that those of you who think a bridge is your spot then please pay my taxes for me and you can have the hole thing to your self. I will continue to share my experinces because I feel this site has been built to do so and I cant please everyone with my actions I suppose. I would never try to hurt anyones feelings about fishing and would never try intentionally to comment for contreversy on a paticular issue. Its how I feel about it and thats that.:D

Love the cheap shots. I guess you need to be cheap at an old salty like my self to get your point across. I dont mind really.... Just remember the net is a place were people can talk and share their passions with others. Its not your fault that you need to feel angry about a guy talking about a 23 inch striper from a bridge that it seems you own. You keep thinking that its your choice and I will keep writting about my experinces. :)

Better yet why dont I meet up with ya one night and can show you? I dont mind really helping you out. Especially if your in a drought and cant seem to catch any by your self? I think you would have a great time and it would nice to fish with a guy such as yourself. You seem like such a nice guy helping me out the way you do.:D

Next time just mention a bridge in the av/sh area.......not specific bridges. Its the rules on here.........No one took any cheap shots at you....You obviously must be blind if you havent noticed the amount of people up their since your post....Last night their was about 10 people.....none of the looked like they knew what they were doing anyway...keep mentioning your spots though...watch all the nonsense and trash that starts getting left all over by people who here the word "striper" and keep anything the catch and eventually you litle bridge gets shut down....Not posting spots when your a land based angler is only helping you out more....

Dont run your su3k at me kid I am not mentioning the bridge as often as you keep complaining abut my report on it.. And the night you claim there were people all over the bridge was a flat out lie. I live down there in the summer and go there almost every night and 10 non fishing anglers must of been after 300 am. I love when a kid pumps his chest out at subject that is sensitive and has a bunch of nothing to say about it but tell others what they can say. I will continue to report at my own risk then if you think saying a bridge location is spot burning. All bridges in Jersey are spot burning? LOL:D

I'm in the middle of the road on this one....saying the blues/stripers are under the TI Bridge on any given day to me is hardly spot burning.....the word is usually out and it's hardly a secluded area...it's also what I call a stanby...meaning people start there or go there when nothing else is in the wind....kinda like mentioning the inlet and being told it's spot.
But some of the secondary smaller bridges don't get a lot of action all the time and if one fills up with a school for a couple nights...I can see where guys would like to keep that action to themselves/the guys that are prospecting for themselves a lot.
The consensus and rule is "don't post spots".....and even though I agree that I could care less most of the time...it is a rule and doing it consistently will probably get you banned if you ruffle enough feathers...which is really the point anyway....;)
PS...I'll vouch for Bridge Kid...for one he's not really a kid and two has posted a lot of useful stuff over the years.

Thats fine Capt all the respect to you. I am new here and understand th spot burn thing. I dont want to ruffle the feather actually want to comply to what is now known as spot burning. I in my haste mentioned were I was fishing. It wasnt a big deal only to find out it was. I understand it but I also feel that this site is for the anglers and understand also that I wasnt trying to hurt those who work hard at the sport. I merely was expressing my action to all and wasnt trying to spot burn. It came out that way unfrotunately and I was trying to let it be but the persistant badgering about it I felt that the Kid was trying to beat it home. I never have been a guy who never helped out others I always try to be an up standing person and try to help others. My nature I guess. It wont happen again restassure.

i have to say, this is another run away thread with the whole spot burning thing. I like what was said on page one, there is fish at every bridge in new jersey. If you think people are going to hop in there cars, to that bridge, for a few school bass, its not going to happen. I have fished that bridge for 10 years now, most of the people there have no clue what there doing anyway..

Man this is rediculas. I already said I was wrong and you all still slam me for it. Its over with and move on please. I truly cant understand it with all the ridderick about a 23 inch striper from a local bridge I was by myself just thinking of you all about my 1 stiper I caught and wasnt really trying to cause such bull crap about it. again all bridges hold fish so go fish for them. I wont mention bridges on any post or maybe I will cant believe what you all complain about its a real sorry state when you cant talk about it on a fishing site (because its to much information) Go fish and have fun doing it I wont put your specific spot in gepardy. Did I really say were on the bridge I caught it? hmmm... that would be to specific. Could see it now everyone trying to fit in a specifc spot on a bridge. Sheeesh.

Do people drive on that bridge in cars, under in boats, kayaks, and jetskis? As soon as that fish got hooked it was burned! Same with every other SPOT in south jersey that is easily accessable. The SPOTS that take a little work to fish are the ones we need to ssshhhh about. Keep one to yourself and give one away. Thats how we all learned. I have thousands of places to fish by boat and land. A few I was told about, a few I found myself. Most I have company:rolleyes: BUT, the internet is NOT the place to post exact locations. I have no problem talking locations with someone face to face. Who knows, maybe that guy you crossed paths with in the dark or stood next to at the fish cleaning station shares a little information with you and YOU find your next HOTSPOT:) Happy Hunting.
