Does anyone fish the rips at night for bass during the summer? I am curious to see if anyone does and if they have any luck. With the water temps being this low inshore I thought there might be a chace of catching some big stripers at night using eels, but would like to hear some feedback if anyone has tried this,Thanks

I would think you need to be a pretty dam good Capt to fish there at night. The rips during the day can be tricky. I am not saying no body does it but it would be pretty tricky at night you got to be on your toes and have pretty good visability to see the next roller coming in. postion of the boat is key there.:D Would be interested to know who does fish ther at night.

Several years ago, I decided that I was going to give it a real effort at night, mid summer, and did so a few times. Yes, you can catch bass at night in the rips during the summer. But eels are tough; little blues bite the tails off and brown sharks are sometimes a problem. Same with any live bait that time of year. We caught better with bucktails, but the experiment is still ongoing...

I did this a few times with Captain George on the Shadow....and it was great!
I would Never attempt this with my boat. I got yelled at just for stepping into the line of sight one night with a full moon. :D
