Thats a nice red your wife has from topsail. Did you guys paddle to Lee's Island or did you run right across from the sound beach to the marsh? I've been goin down there for 17yrs now. Just recently have started doin some redfishing when I go there.

We fished off of the park area at the south end of the island. Drifted in front of the last dozen or so docks with gulps. We caught 12 reds in an hour. All the locals thought we were some kind of redfish pros. Then they all anchored up in our spot and forced us off our drift. So I moved down further and became a fluke pro.

Good stuff I never thought to drift the docks. I know that bulkhead in the back of the picture has some fluke:D How did you find topsail(if you dont mind me asking)?

My daughter is down in Wilmington finishing up her masters degree at UNC. We go down every fall to visit her. We are leaving the 29th with our Hobies for a week. Rentals are very reasonable down there. We rented an ocean front house this year for $75 a night. And it comes with a boat dock and free use of a skiff.
We will be in writesville beach this year. Hows the fishing behind there?

i've never fished behind wrightsville. UNCW was one of my top choices for colleges, but instead i'm on the chesapeake. When you're down there you definitely need to hit up Capt. Ken Mullen(Swell Rider Sportfishing). He's a great guy and can put you on the meat.

This is a friend of mine...not me. the picutre was taken out at the balimore caynon 60+ miles offshore late this past august. I thought it made a good pic for this new forum. If we get a good weather window, the yak may take another ride to the deep before the season ends. If so I'll try to get more pics.

If there is any interest, I would be open to offering offshore kayak trips. It would have to be BYOK's. :thumbsup:
