At the last minute, I decided to join Procastinator aboard his "Rod Bender II" on Sunday to tatrget some bottom dwellers.

Rather than join the crowds at the reef, Pro moved us offshore a bit further to hit a few different small, un-named rock piles, and we found life everywhere we dropped with drop-n-reel action all throughout the day.

Ended the day with 32 keeper sea bass and a single ~5 lbs. tog in the box with none of the sea bass under 13". Easily released at least another 60-70 short sea bass, a few short blackfish, along with a handful of short sand porgies. Sadly, we had to throw back some real nice fluke! :(

Marked tons of sand eels and other bait just about everywhere we looked, so things are looking good for the Fall.

Pretty work.

It's always good to get away from the crowd.

I only had a couple of hours before I had to go to a party so we fished the SH reef on Sat and had a ton of action as well. I was suprised that there weren't more boats out there. I guess the early morning fog discourged some people.

We had a bunch of nice size porgys and sea bass up to 16".

It was a fun day. It looked like the North end of the reef was a fiberglass forest, with Daves Grady, and Eddie's Baha right in the middle of it. Next trip we will go hit some even more out of the way seabass hangs that I got saved up......it should be epic. :)

Good fishing with ya bro, and Ted, let me know when you want to head out dredge up some tasty bottom feeders.

I thought that was the April Ann too but I went over there and it wasn't him. The guy must have thouht I was a real tool, not to many of those boats out there, I thought it was him for sure.

Saw him back at the dock when I was washing up. April didn't want to venture out in the fog. I think they were planning on heading out today.

I didn't see Dave. I saw a grady that looked like his but after a closer look it didn't have the zuk. Any idea how he did?

I was thinking of heading out to the rips one night this week to see if anything is doing. I will let you know if you want to join us.

Also going to try to hit the canyon the weekend of the 19th-21st
Care to join us if the weather permits?

Took the ride up north to fish with my cousin today with a sack of 100 chowder clams and it was drop and reel action all morning for porgies and sea bass. Lots of porgies 12-15 inches. Had live peanuts, squid, and mackarel. Clams were the hot bait.

Ted, Dave and Eddie were right together in the middle of the North end of the reef, I was a few miles away but could see the fleet. I even ran over to see what all the boat hoopla was about, I figured that there had to be a boat full of naked strippers somewhere in that mess. :D After getting a few small seabass and porgies, we collected Dave and took him out with us to the promised land. I think Dave ended up with about 8 seabass and a dozen or so porgies.

I wouldn't mind heading out with you guys , but, I will have to check my schedule, I have a few people that want to take a trip off for some bottom fish, and I have to check their schedule with mine so I can get them out in the next two weeks. I'll let you know. :)

ooops,

I was out there on Sat not today. Didn't look at the date you had posted.

Let me know about your schedule and I will keep an eye on the weather.

I don't really do a lot of bottom fishing, I would love to take you up on your offer and fish a couple of your snags. It sure is a lot less work then fishing offshore :D

Let me know when and we can take "Ruthless" if you want.

We should set something up and take all of the convicts from Browns Point too. I'm sure it would be a good time no matter what.

That would be one ugly crew !! :D
I will be in touch. I would love to take a ride on the Ruthless, I hear the beer is really cold on that boat.

Easy guys I still consider myself eye candy for the ladies! We had a pretty good day even when we got surrounded by other boats. Nice day on the water and a nice bag of fish to fry up at home. Ted you put all the convicts from our marina together we will need a bigger boat! :D

Johnny you and Jimmy give me a shout and let's see what next weekend brings. Ted that other BAHA looks the same it's only smaller.
