There were some blues up that far last year as well, around this time. Just a few miles south there are a gazillion of 'em, (south of Betterton).

FYI...
The salt line on the Delaware is up to the Barry Bridge. There are jelly fish in the Elk River and it's not uncommon for blue fish to be at Turkey Point. Loved to get into the little buggers with a rattle trap. Found them from Turkey point ...to mouth of Sass River all the way down to Whorton Point...I thought they were fun...The kid's loved them
BTW...Capt Ed...Will you be at Lewis again this fall??? Not sure if I will put in again at Snug Harbor..

I haven't made up my mind yet Cisco. Operating costs with fuel and slips are a bit grim at the moment. I've been running the center console as much as possible while the weather is nice, but it's not well suited for Fall fishing the rips.

Lures or bait?
Actually both, we had caught some spot and were livelining them for some stripers in a few places, haven't caught any keeper stripers yet up here, just testing the waters..but the poor little suckers didn't have a chance:eek: with all the blues around, fun stuff on some light tackle.
And like Capt Ed said, they were up in here ( The Elk) last year as well.

I've caught 3 flounder in the elk one was last year while crabbing with traps. Couple of days ago we were in the bo and caught a croaker in the crab trap. You never know what you will catch when the salt is high
