On Sept 18,2008 a guy in a kayac snuck into Lee's Marina at about 6:30pm and was observed trying to steal a boat according to wittnesses.
After being discovered, this guy paddled his way back out into the NE River, down past the Charlestown pier where State Police watched him head over to the shallows just off Holloway Beach area of Charlestown.
I was at the pier and was asked by the State Police if I knew where this guy was headed. They did not know the back streets of Charlestown so I told them where he might make landfall. They followed me over to the beach area and as soon as we pulled up to the beach, this guy was beaching his kayac.
State Police arrested him and cuffed him on the spot.
I gathered by the conversation that this guy was "up on something" He stated that he was towing this boat with his kayac...
We all started laughing...
Make him "walk the plank"

Great report, we need more people willing to get involved in watching after other peoples property.

Way to keep em honest Bruce, I'm sure all the boat owners in the area were thankful you were in the area.
Hope all is well and won't be long now for the fall run:)

Hi John...Good to hear from you...I just happened to be at the pier doing paperwork when the SP pulled in...They asked...I told...They captured...That's all nothing more...It's just nice to see the bad guy get it!!! After it was all over, I went back to the pier and finished my paperwork as I wittnessed a beautiful sunset...
See you soon...how's the back bay been for you?

Nothing like a sunset on the Susquehanna Flats. I have a great picture as my screen saver I took the night of the full moon in April, really a nice picture.
Back bay was pretty good this year, we caught a couple real nice flounder and plenty of action on flounder between 17 & 18 inches, but still fun to catch on the light tackle. We made two trips out of Cape May fishing the deepwater structures and had some luck as well.
I'll probably start going for stripers in the Del bay around 3rd-4th week in October, I'll give you a call when it gets closer.
Take care till then.

Hello Scott...
I don't see myself comming up to Mystic Islands anytime soon. Mom passed away a few months ago and have no need to be up there.
Maybe on a short notice or something like that to fish Graveling Point but I don't know. On another note, I may not be taking my boat to Snug Harbor this year because of the cost. Havn't made up my mind yet. I did get the letter in the mail about the slip pricing and availability...We'll see...I'll call you if I do. Would love to have you out again this year...
