Myself and a partner fished the First Annual CCA Upper Bay Catch-n-release Tournament yesterday. Boundaries were basically the Susquehanna Flats and surrounding rivers Elk, Bohemia and Susky.
Results:
Team Bonus Check (Ed and Gman) dominate the field. We checked in (by photo) the largest striper and the largest perch to take home half the first place prizes. We also had the second place striper which we did not check in, leaving the prize slot open for someone else. Gman lost the potential winning catfish at boatside or we'd have taken that division as well. Only thing we didn't catch was a largemouth.
First, second and third place entries were filled for all four species so lots of prizes were handed out. The catfish winner won the raffle for an awesome CCA embossed G-Loomis rod.
Roughly 40 people at the party afterwards at the Nauti-Goose Saloon for free beer and BBQ, while Gary Diamond played his "traveling easy" music in the background.
The big striper came in at 36 inches and 15 pounds:

To underscore how fortunate (freakish) this catch is for up here at this time of year; the second place winner in the striper category was 14.75 inches.
Gmans perch was 11 inches long. Taking home a St. Croix/Shimano combo for a decent perch is a pretty sweet deal.
Overall the weather was less severe than forecasted, turnout good for a first time event, problems kept to a minimum, etc. Good Job CCA Upper Bay Chapter!
For those of you who know the area, you know that fishing is really tough up here this time of year. That makes the second tourney win for Team Bonus Check in the past year in the Upper Bay area a very rewarding experience.
