This will be my strategy as well, I will be taking out 2 kids and their father who have never fished much at all, plus another New York tansplant who is really excited as well as my son. I was planning on starting at the rocks then going back to the bay as we launch out of AH. I will try to mix it up with an eel line, clam line, a light tackle bottom fluke/bass line with squid or killies, and a diamond jig line or piece of mackeral/bunker for blues. I am hoping to cover all the angles but I am not sure bout the albies. What is the best tactic for them? I really want to keep these kids interested on Sunday. The albies would be icing on the cake.

MBoy- The same reason i would be fishing any other area to catch fish. What was the purpose of your question?

Trout16- if you search enough you will find the birds working and ava 27s will do by the job. Depending on where you launch from try near the naval pier. Obviously not in the markers but around the vicinity. Good luck and I am sure you guys will find the fish.

maybe I'll go inside the markers to give the boys an experience they will never forget!? Thanks perks, I am sure we will do okay just for the pure beginner's luck factor. I need this trip as bad as they do, just had my 3rd boy and haven't been out for 6 weeks. I am just as excited to get out to say the least.

The fisherman's afternoon trips target blues with jigs. Not that I have ever done it  but if you see them you will at least know what they are doing. Personally I don't think you need to take such a long run to find the fish. The kids will have a blast tieing into some blues.
My plan is to hit the edges of the chanells with eels.
As for albies small metal 007's or deadly dicks.

Because that's not where the fish are (or where they have been getting them from what I hear)

They did on Monday, but not today.

Most of their fish have been coming on clams. Almost nothing on the jigs yet.

I know someone who beat them up on clams yesterday.
