Could not find the peanuts at the marina but netted a couple dozen porgies and a few snappers. Went to the rips to find no one until the Angler showed up. It was wind against tide but still got enough drift to boat 8 bass, 4 of which were keepers. 30" and the rest 28-1/2" the throw backs were all 26-27". A bunch of run offs(must be the big hook?) and some big blues also.
All fish on the small porgies till dark then it was eels. wish I could have stayed for the out going, I think it would have heated up.
Also we saw no bait on the way out or by the rips.

Hey Williemilkem, nice job on the bass. I am going out on Sunday morning around the same area, where did you net the porgies? Did you have any luck with the eels after dark? Thanks

That is a big porgy to get the net on. Remember there is a size limit and it is enforced.

I would leave the porgies alone. Try to net peanuts. You should be able to find them in the AH marina. Sometimes ignorance is not bliss.

i would say use every porgy you can possibly catch.

What size net should you use for netting peanut bunker?

I use a 10' with 3/8" holes. The small nets are hard to use imo because the nuts are fast and boat shy.
