Flats, N.E. river [Archive]

I fished the Flats, N.E. river yesterday, Rocky point to be exact. Brought home 25 nice perch up to 12 inches, threw twice as many small one's back. Also caught about 10 cats that went back also. Top and bottom rigs with night crawlers, Nice day on the water!

Haven't found any nice size Perch like that this year yet, I'm over on the Elk, have to venture around the bend I think this weekend....In how much water?
Do you get Spot over there?
WE've been catching more Spot & Blues then Perch.
Crazy year but fun...

Fished the North East River side of Turkey Point for about 5 hours Tuesday. Tried crank baits, spoons, jigs, & crawlers. Only got 2 under-sized stripers and a few small junk fish. Lots of grass in the water, mostly floating. Nice sunny day, but maybe too sunny for the fish. Maybe next time I'll try the other side of the NE River.

Haven't found any nice size Perch like that this year yet, I'm over on the Elk, have to venture around the bend I think this weekend....In how much water?
Do you get Spot over there?
WE've been catching more Spot & Blues then Perch.
Crazy year but fun...

We were just up river past the #2 bouy, maybe by 100 yards. About 18 feet of water, nightcrawlers on top and bottom rigs. Our best action was about 2 hours before high tide.
