Since Craig the Lurker is well... a lurker... he wanted me to post this to get your opinion for him..

He is looking at a Cabo 60 and a Stradic 6000 and can't make up his mind... let's see what you think. Main use is jigging for stripers from the boat.

I have a Cabo 40 and 60 and a Stradic 5000. Cant go wrong with either one, the shimano will come with an extra spare spool if that is a factor (Cabo cost me around $35 for a spare spool). If the Cabo came with a spare spool I would probably recommend going Quantum.

Have him look into Daiwa too, they have come on strong recently but I cannot give any personal insight on them.

I've got the Stradic 5000 and love it!!!!As long as you keep it oiled it's great!!The drag rocks just gettin to pu another one for my fresh water spinning!!:D

Have a Cabo 40 its great, highly recommend the Cabo:).It has the great drag.

Personally I would not pick either one, I would use a penn squidder, or a penn 706, but out of the 2 choices you have I would pick the Shimano any day.

go with the quantum cabo. its a smooth reel.

I have both but like the cabo alot better-the stradic is not a saltwater reel and will not last as long as a cabo-the stradic will not withstand the conditions.cosmetically it is a poor reel-their customer service(shimano)sucks-quantum gives you 24 hour return time after reel is received-waited 4 months for my two stradics to be cleaned and bails fixed
