My buddy Bob and I hit the Barnegat Bay for some stripers, we got a late start because I'm a little under the weather. We throw bucktails and drifted spots along the jetties with out a touch so we went up into the bay and to fish some sod banks with out a touch. We heard the chatter about the blues just outside so we went to take a peek. We found bird working in the north jetty pocket and the first toss of the bucktail I hooked up. Talk about a great fight as the blue got boat side a second blue was trying to take the bucktail out of it's mouth. They were fighting over the the lure. I ended the day going 6 for 10 on some really big blues and my buddy went 5 for 9. We didn't get any stripers but some guy's on my dock got 6 just before day break all on lures and bucktails. What a great day on the water.

Sounds good, I got the slip for free so I'll take what I can get. The lights on the island are off now so the ride isn't to bad, plus gas for the truck is cheaper then the boat and Bay Veiw is just south of the inlet.

Lets hope the weekend weather report changes from what it is now I took the last two months off, I need to fish. Did you get out over the weekend? That was one of the best bluefish bites I've ever fished. You could see the blues darting through the water under the boat. I saw fish fighting the hooked fish for the worm on my bucktail, we never went more then a cast or two before we had a fish on. We left them biting because I was sick and should have stayed home but I had a serious fishing jones.:D

Thanks, I never keep my boat in the water before but I like it. I'm doing some work on Linda's 150 next week and I'm going to see if I can get a slip for next year. Victor got me the slip as a favor for work I do for him. Which boat is yours?

I put away the tuna gear after a pretty decent season. i made my first fall bass trip sunday out of squan and we got a lot of big blues and false albacore, no stripers. i see you are in the water now. You will like fishing out of there as the fall progresses. Hit the Harvey cedars lump in a few weeks. Stay in touch.
mike.

I rember seeing you in the morning, you have a nice boat. My freinds from BL have have been catching striper during the week but weekend boat traffic has been killing the bite on the weekends. Those blues sure were a blast.:D

BTW welcome to the barn.

Mike, I'll most likely pull the boat out in December so I can fish out of SR, I think the late bite is better to the north then in the IBSP area. If you need a fishing partner let me know I'll be glade to pitch in on the fuel bill. So far we haven't had any albies yet hopfully soon.

no i didnt get out over the weekend, i was running around chasing spot then killing them (by accident) and sunday i had a football game (coach). i think your gonna like the fall fishing out of BI. i stayed in the water last year untill the deer season started. and the fish were still biting. actually some guys were getting spooled by BFT about 1/2 mile out the inlet late last fall, while jigging for bass. keep in touch we zero in on them this fall, theres another barner, dees nutz, that hooks up with me out there, nice to be in cell phone range as well.

I found a few bass Monday a little north of BI-jigging under the birds- then about 100 boats showed up and the bass vanished, plenty of slammer blues stuck around- I will be out this Sunday-"Witchcraft" on 68 & 16
